MAS Observing Sites & Facilities. Observing in all its forms is the heart and soul of amateur astronomy. To meet our membership’s diverse observing needs we maintain five unique regional observing sites, four with observatories.

Ancient times. In early times, astronomy only comprised the observation and predictions of the motions of objects visible to the naked eye. In some locations, early cultures assembled massive artifacts that possibly had some astronomical purpose.
